According to a Naij report, 22 of the officials from the budget office would be deployed, while the rest would be moved to other ministries, departments and agencies.

In addition, 14 new directors would be moved into the vacant positions following "testing" in order to ascertain whether they are fit for the jobs.

According to the directive, which was issued through the head of service at the federation, all affected officers were ordered to report to their new posts on or before the close of work on Thursday.

The development follows on from Buhari's promise to deal with all culprits who had a hand in the alterations made to the 2016 national budget. Buhari described the alteration as "embarrassing" and "disappointing".
