| SAS sniper gunned down three ISIS jihadis |
Fearing the concrete house was being used as a base by ISIS to launch more bomb attacks, the SAS sergeant took matters into his own hands by shooting at the house from a hideout nearly a kilometre away.
After peppering the house with dozens of bullets, special forces then moved in and found the bodies of three ISIS fighters who had been mown down by bullets from the sniper rifle.
Speaking about the SAS sniper incident, a military source told the Daily Star: "The armour-piercing rounds had a devastating effect. "The bodies of the Islamic State fighters had been absolutely pulverised.
"One had been decapitated and another had been cut in half."
It is thought the quick-thinking sharp-shooter may have saved dozens of lives by targeting the extremists before they could carry out further attacks during the incident last week. The troubled Iraqi city of Ramadi, where the raid took place, has been plagued by violence in recent weeks.
