An Ecuadoran army plane
crashed in the Amazon rainforest on Tuesday with 22 people on board,
though the number of victims is unknown, said President Rafael Correa.
Demonstrators shout slogans as they hold up flags of the city of Quito during a rally in Quito, Ecuador.
"We're
awaiting news on victims and survivors," he wrote on Twitter, saying
the plane was carrying 19 paratroops, two pilots and a mechanic.
