College
students are headed back to campus this month in droves. That means
there are a lot of young people out there tricking out dorm rooms,
living on pizza, escaping from parental supervision, and trying to
survive in the wild without the padded nest and Mom’s cooking to fall
back on.
The
days of ramen, cheap furniture, and beer-fueled study groups are also
time to start learning about budgeting. College students are by
necessity some of the most frugal people on the planet. So, thinking
back to my own college days and my own legendary frugality, I’ve got you
some deals especially suited to the dorm-room lifestyle.
Some
things never change: For better or worse, drinking is still a major
component of the college experience. But you can help your student (or
yourself) avoid a DUI — or, worse, an alcohol-fueled accident — with
the AlcoMate Revo portable breathalyzer.
Had
a beer or three? Breathe into the AlcoMate, and it will tell you in no
uncertain terms — blood-alcohol numbers, in other words — if you’re
sober enough to drive. Its state-of-the-art technology (based on fuel
cells) will quickly indicate whether Uber would be a better idea. The AlcoMate Revo is normally $249.95, but if you use the code dealseekers at checkout, you’ll save $50. One per customer through September 21.
